Minnesota Night Skies in January

All Ages · Free

It’s time to head outside and explore the starry skies! Join Bell Museum's planetarium educators on Bell Museum Facebook Live as they take you on a journey of what’s currently visible in the evening skies.

This month, as part of the Bell’s Heart & Solstice series, we’ll highlight (no pun intended) the winter solstice and the amazing conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. The two planets will be incredibly close to each other and weather permitting, we’ll see this rate event in a live telescope view!  These aren’t the only celestial events happening, so join us as we explore our sky in the new year.

Together, we’ll explore the sky above Minnesota, including seasonal constellations, the Moon, and visible planets. There’s something in the sky for everyone! Don’t forget to bring your questions, as we’ll save time for Q & A.

Be sure to download your own current Minnesota Skies Guide.
