Nanotechnology research can improve organ preservation for transplantation

College of Science and Engineering Professor Beth Stadler studies magnetic nanowires, which are about a million times smaller than a strand of human hair. While the nanowires have applications to various electronic devices, they can actually help in the organ preservation process.

In a recent episode of "Nano Matters," a podcast by the National Nanotechnology Initiative, Stadler discusses her research and how it can help preserve organs for transplantation. Listen to the audio interview in the video below.

Stadler's work is part of the University of Minnesota's National Science Foundation-funded Engineering Research Center (ERC) for Advanced Technologies for the Preservation of Biological Systems (ATP-Bio).
