Summer camp draws more women to computer science

Robot programming is just one of the activities at Professor Maria Gini’s summer computer programming academy for young female students. The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $3.7 million grant to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to further efforts to increase the number of students of color and American Indian students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs of study and careers.
