You are eligible to apply for readmission to CSE if your last college of enrollment was in CSE. Students who have been away for more than two consecutive semesters may be held to the newest degree requirements.

Your application can only be submitted one semester prior to the semester you wish to return.
- Returning fall semester: Accepted the first day of spring semester, to 30 days before fall semester begins.
- Returning spring semester: Accepted the first day of fall semester, to 30 days before spring semester begins.
- Returning summer session: Accepted the first day of spring semester, to 30 days before May/summer session begins (early May).
If you completed course work at another institution during your absence send a copy of your official transcript from that institution to the University of Minnesota Office of Admissions so that the coursework can be added to your academic record.

You are returning to CSE from academic suspension.
There are two steps which must completed when petitioning to return from academic suspension.
Petitioning for reinstatement after suspension submission deadlines:
- Fall semester: July 1
- Spring semester: November 1
Step 1: Complete the online Application for Readmission.
Step 2: Complete the Petition for Reinstatement After Suspension form. The form, and additional important information can be found on the CSE Policies, procedures, and forms webpage. The completed form and supplemental documentation should be sent to csestudent@umn.edu
