CSE faculty/staff receive University 2014 teaching and advising awards

MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (03/25/2014) – Several faculty and staff members within the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) have recently received University of Minnesota teaching and advising awards.
2014 Recipients of the Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award
Three of the eight recipients of the University-wide Morse-Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Award are faculty in CSE. The award awarded annually recognizes a select group of faculty members for their outstanding contributions to undergraduate education.
Recipients from CSE include:
- Lorraine F. Francis, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science
- Paul Imbertson, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Jane E. Wissinger, Department of Chemistry
2014 Graduate and Professional Teaching Award
Two of the eight of the University-wide Graduate and Professional Teaching Award are faculty in CSE. This honor awarded annually recognizes a select group of faculty members for their outstanding contributions to postbaccalaureate, graduate, and/or professional education.
Recipients from CSE include:
- Marc A. Hillmyer, Department of Chemistry
- Ned Mohan, Department Electrical and Computer Engineering
2013-14 John Tate Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising
One of the four recipients of the University-wide Tate Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising is a staff member in CSE. The John Tate Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising, named in honor of John Tate, professor of physics and first dean of University College (1930-41), recognizes high-quality advising at the University of Minnesota. It calls attention to the contributions academic advising and career services make in helping students formulate and achieve intellectual, career, and personal goals.
