Transformation as a Product: Approaches to Human-Centered Change

What memories or feelings does the term "enterprise transformation" evoke in you? Fight? Flight? Fatigue? Large changes often come at the expense of the individual.

What if we applied a design thinking lens to large-scale change, asking, "how might we create impactful change without crushing the souls of our people?" What impacts could our transformations target if we put people first? This line of questioning leads us to product thinking. Successful products find, understand, and delight their customers. What happens when we treat transformations as a product and the people involved as its customers?

Dave Laribee and Nate Ashford have participated in and led large scale transformations at multiple organizations over the years. In this talk, they'll share their observations, guiding principles, and a couple of wild ideas on the subject of making change a more humane experience.
