Invest in outreach

One of our top priorities is to inspire upcoming generations of young people to become the scientists and engineers of the future. By reaching out to K-12 students, educators, and families through high-impact activities and sustained classroom mentoring, we will continue to meet the demand for the innovators, educators, and research professionals of tomorrow.

Industry relies on the College of Science and Engineering as a resource for top talent. But as the field grows and new career opportunities emerge, the number of high school graduates is also in decline. We must encourage more young people from underrepresented groups to pursue an education in math, science, engineering, and technology, including women, students of color and from immigrant populations, and first-generation college students.
