About
ABOUT US
The Chemical Theory Center consists of six faculty members and their research groups in the College of Science & Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Members carry out a broad range of cutting-edge theoretical chemistry and computational research. The CTC fosters a collaborative environment in which every project is looked at with multiple different perspectives. Members of the CTC are trained to be successful scientists that can work productively in a team setting, communicate science effectively, and, ultimately, solve pressing environmental and societal problems.
OUR STUDENTS
Junior researchers play integral roles within the Chemical Theory Center, and members include about 20 postdoctoral researchers, 50 graduate students, and a few undergraduate students. They earn prestigious awards and fellowships, such as the Department of Chemistry’s Overend Award for Graduate Research in Physical Chemistry, the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program, American Chemical Society (ACS) Graduate Student Award in Computational Physical Chemistry, and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP).
