January 27, 2021 -- A postdoctoral research associate position is available immediately at the University of Minnesota to work on a collaborative research project under the mentorship of Professor Ilja Siepmann. The postdoc will develop/utilize computational methods to investigate thermophysical properties and bubble dynamics of aqueous systems.

This project (MURI: Predicting Turbulent Multi-Phase Flows with High Fidelity- A Physics-Based Approach) is funded through the Office of Naval Research Multidisciplinary University Research Initiatives (MURI) Program and involves tight collaboration with the computational fluid dynamics group of Professor Krishnan Mahesh and other members of the MURI team.

The ideal candidate:

  • has extensive experience in large-scale molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations with excellent programming and data analysis skills;
  • possesses great interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in diverse environments;
  • excels in connecting molecular, mesoscale, and macroscopic phenomena.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline at the start of the appointment.

Applications with curriculum vita, one representative publication, and the names of two references should be sent to siepmann@umn.edu.
