Scott Kovarik
Scott Kovarik is the Quantitative Trading Execution Lead for Cargill, Inc., responsible for building out and expanding Cargill's quantitative and algorithmic trading capabilities. Scott has over 25 years of industry experience. From 2005 to 2019, he was a Managing Partner, Co-Founder and Head of Quantitative Trading and Research of Lake Hill Capital Management, LLC. He was responsible for all firm-wide research and strategy execution. In 2015, Lake Hill was acquired by Leucadia Asset Management, LLC, a division of Jefferies Financial Group. From 1999 to 2005, he was a Partner at George Weiss Associates, LLC, where he served as Senior Portfolio Manager for Statistical Arbitrage and Volatility Trading. He was responsible for all aspects of designing, building and implementing both strategies. From 1995 to 1999, he was a Partner at Greenway Trading LLC, a managed account for Paloma Partners, where he managed Volatility Trading. He served as an Equity Derivatives Trader at Salomon Brothers from 1993 to 1995, where he traded Equity Derivative Dispersion Strategies in the U.S. and Latin America. Scott received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School.
