I am a technical consultant for financial technology products. The rigorous curriculum of the MFM program helped me prepare for many important areas within the field of quantitative finance including risk management, financial software engineering, statistics, research, and modeling. The MFM has teachers who are active practitioners in the finance industry and many are leaders in their firms’ departments. Therefore, it is easy for students to get up-to-date insight on the market, and to understand the evolving requirements and challenges of quant positions. The program offered a broad range of events and activities that were fascinating to me, such as flying to Toronto with a team of classmates to attend an international student trading competition, as well as a trip to Chicago to visit financial companies for career path exploration and social networking. I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in applying quantitative analysis to finance.
