Data Science @ Meta

There are different business and research organizations at Meta (Facebook) for Data scientists and/or Machine Learning Eng/Researcher, each trying to accomplish different goals. It is important to get familiar with these different organizations and their goals at Meta before applying for any jobs and to know how to best prepare for each.

Zeinab will present the optimal way to land a job in big tech companies transferring from academia by 1) what you need to invest in your last 1-2 years of graduate study/post-graduate career and 2) when to apply. Then, I will give a summary of different Data Scientist jobs at various Meta organizations (the Product/Eng, Infrastructure Team, or Marketing Science/Sales Team). The lecture will be followed by a summary of Machine Learning Researcher (User Value and Advertisers Value) and Artificial Intelligence roles at Meta.
