Professor Mou is interested in developing AI/ML techniques to fuse domain-specific knowledge (such as data structural information, physical laws, and engineering knowledge) and in-situ sensing data, to enhance the modeling and decision-making for complex systems, with applications in personal electronics, semiconductor, aerospace and healthcare industries. Methodically, his research intersects high-dimensional statistics, optimization, machine learning, and engineering science. Key areas of interest include: (1) Robust machine learning; (2) Meta-learning; and (3) Physics informed machine learning. He is also interested in the analysis of stochastic systems using tools from queuing theory. He has been leading various research projects funded by governmental agencies (NSF) and leading companies (Apple, Boeing, etc.).
