Building the Collaborative Scientific Software Platform CoCalc

Abstract

I was a pure mathematician at Harvard, UCSD and UW for two decades, where I founded the SageMath open source project, which I built in collaboration with students, postdocs and fellow faculty.  I left academia a few years ago to build a collaborative scientific software platform to make it easier for people to work together using scientific software and for professors to integrate open source software into their teaching and research.  In this talk, I'll give an update on our trajectory.
