Hot Topics Workshops
These workshops, introduced at the IMA in the 1990s, provide the mathematics community with a mechanism for organizing workshops on rapidly developing areas of interests, gathering those with diverse backgrounds to strengthen interdisciplinary connections.
These stand-alone workshops are not necessarily connected to the Annual Thematic Program but rather they focus on a specific problem or area of exceptional contemporary interest and importance. Workshop topics are usually recommended by the IMA’s industrial partners or other research groups. These workshops are often cosponsored by a participating institution, corporation, government funding agency, or an NSF-focused research group.
