Abstract

3M applies science in collaborative ways to improve lives daily; and a career in its corporate R&D has offered a multitude of opportunities to connect 3M’s core technologies, such as adhesives, nonwovens, and optical films, with machine learning to create new solutions for display devices, anti-counterfeiting, optical metamaterials, and beyond. This presentation will showcase examples of combining material and digital technologies, while highlighting themes of strategic questioning and key considerations for applied science.
