Abstract

Intelligence has historically been the ultimate craft, artisanal good: we have to raise an entire human from scratch! In this talk we will take for granted that the production process of intelligence is undergoing a profound shift, towards a purely industrial act. We will discuss, through a few examples, what this might mean for mathematics and mathematicians.
