Mechanical Engineering's 3MT Competition
September 25, 2025
3-180 Kenneth H. Keller Hall
5:30-7:00pm
The Mechanical Engineering Three Minute Thesis (ME3MT) competition is an event where mechanical engineering grad students use just a single slide and exactly three minutes to explain their research in an engaging an easy to understand format. There is a wide variety of topics in the competition that range from energy and the environment to human health.
The purpose of the competition is to celebrate the innovative research conducted by our graduate students and to help cultivate their academic, presentation, and research communication skills.
Compete in ME 3MT!
Eligible students are those currently pursuing a PhD or Plan A degree in the ME Department and haven't previously won or placed in a 3MT competition. Apply by September 4th for your chance at bragging rights and financial reward!
Watch in-person or via Zoom
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.
