Congratulations to the 2023 ME3MT Winners!

Congratulations to Carolyn Bernemann and Hyewon Lee on winning awards at this year's ME3MT competition! Bernemann and Lee will both advance to the CSE level competition on October 23.

The Mechanical Engineering Three Minute Thesis (ME3MT) competition is an event where mechanical engineering grad students have exactly three minutes to explain their research in an engaging an easy to understand format. There is a wide variety of topics in the competition that range from energy and the environment to human health. The purpose of the competition is to celebrate the innovative research conducted by our graduate students and to help cultivate their academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

2023 was the fifth year that ME has held a 3MT competition. Bernemann's presentation, "Affordable Home Dialysis in Low-Income Countries," won two out of three available awards — First Place and People's Choice. Lee's presentation, "Ammonia as a Hydrogen Carrier," won Second Place.
