Distinguished Research Award Goes to ME Professor

Professor and Associate Department Head Peter Bruggeman has been awarded the 2020 George W. Taylor Award for Distinguished Research from the College of Science and Engineering, an award that recognizes younger faculty members who have shown outstanding ability in research. Professor Bruggeman received the award in recognition of his accomplishments and leadership in plasma sciences. He is recognized worldwide for his work on fundamental physics and chemistry of atmospheric pressure non-equilibrium plasmas, and has made significant achievements in his career.

In his acceptance letter, Professor Bruggeman noted that his research "would not have been possible without the work of my graduate students and the many colleagues I had, and continue to have, the pleasure of collaborating with."

Congratulations to Professor Bruggeman on this well-deserved honor.
