M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science
The M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering is a part-time program offered by the University of Minnesota's Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and is intended for working professionals in the local industry. It caters to individuals who seek to enhance their technical expertise, advance their careers, and stay competitive in their fields through advanced education. Given the nature of this program, we are not currently admitting applicants based outside of Minnesota.
Students can choose from a variety of elective courses that are directly applicable to their industry. These electives cover specialized areas such as polymer science, nanotechnology, biochemical engineering, and sustainable materials. Please note that many of these courses are offered during standard business hours so applicants will need to have a flexible schedule that allows them to take courses during the day.
If you are pursuing a thesis-based Master's degree, we require that you identify an advisor prior to applying for admission to this program.
