Provides standardized configuration and maintenance of CSE-IT supported network firewalls in continual review with modern security best practices.

What is Included

  • Configuration of CSE-IT supported network firewalls.
  • Routine maintenance of CSE-IT supported network firewalls.
  • Firewall policy configuration for instruction and research.
  • Ongoing review and adjustment of firewall policies to enhance maintainability of firewalls and better align with current security best practices.

What is not Included

  • Network support and troubleshooting is available through the Standard Networking service.
  • Support, configuration, and maintenance of OIT supported network firewalls
  • Host-based firewall configuration
  • Perpetual firewall policies.

What you need to do

  • Submit a request for a new CSE firewall rule.
  • CSE-IT or UIS may contact you at any time regarding configured firewall rules or device security concerns.
    • Failure to respond in a timely manner may result in firewall rules being disabled or deleted.
    • Depending on the nature of the concern, response may be needed outside your typical work hours or while you are out of office.
