Connect to a Linux CSE Labs Computer with a Graphical User Interface A full Linux desktop on any CSELabs Linux Workstation can currently be accessed remotely, using the same FastX software powering the Virtual Online Linux Environment. Connecting to a Linux CSE Labs Computer with a Graphical User Interface Choose an Ubuntu computer to connect to from the list of CSE Labs computers. Note: Pick a random number. If too many people connect to the same computer it may impact performance. Open a web browser. Enter the computer name in the address bar. Login with your University InternetID and password. Authenticate with Duo. Click the Launch Session button. A configuration pop up will appear. Click the XFCE logo. Note: In FastX3 you can also choose the Gnome desktop environment. Click the Launch button near the bottom right of the pop up. A Linux desktop will start up.
