Jennifer Mitchell
Electron Microprobe Laboratory Manager, Characterization Facility
Jennifer is an electron microscopy specialist with a background in planetary geology and is working with both the Characterization Facility and the Department of Earth and Environmental Science. In her role at the University of Minnesota, Jennifer is managing the electron microprobe (EPMA) laboratory and supporting students and researchers from all areas of the university who require high precision compositional analysis, as well as opening the lab up to commercial and industrial users.
Jennifer’s research is focused on igneous meteorites and large asteroids through combined analytical and modelling techniques, aiming to further our understanding of how magmatism in the early Solar System.
Education
