[Hired] Now Hiring: Student Tech Support Services
The College of Science and Engineering Information Technology (CSE-IT) office is seeking to hire Student Tech Support to assist CSE-IT staff in supporting the technology needs of CSE departments, staff, and faculty, including migrating content in Drupal as part of the Collegiate Website Project. On-the-job training is provided to advance to higher tiers of technical support.
Job Duties
- 85% Assist in migrating content into new website components for units across the college
- 10% Answer questions from editors in units and provide basic trouble-shooting and training on website content migration
- 5% Assist with other web related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently registered undergraduate student pursuing a degree at the University of Minnesota
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong commitment to dependability, customer service, and training
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated skill in working with websites
- Basic experience with HTML
- Proven competency working in Web content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress
- Commitment to developing content that meets accessibility guidelines; willingness to train others on accessibility
- Ability to solve problems and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Student with work-study funds preferred
