Everett’s research lies at the intersection of fluid dynamics, computational science, and scientific software design, with an emphasis on multiphase flows. A few specific interests include the development of methods for tracking the location of different phases, computing interfacial curvature, quantifying phase change rates in compressible systems, consistently and conservatively solving the multiphase governing equations, and stochastically establishing the statistical thermo-fluid behavior of engineering systems. These novel methods have been applied to study a variety of problems of engineering interest, including sprays, smoke aerosols, and shock/drop interactions.
