Functional accounts are now available!

A functional account is an account type intended for non-person accounts that are needed to accomplish various tasks, specifically those that might have been performed through less suitable account types. Examples of use cases may include the following:

  • Automated testing
  • Integrations
  • Nightly batch jobs
  • Email collectors

Functional accounts do not represent a human person, such as a contractor, staff member, or volunteer, are not interchangeable with University departments, sponsored accounts, or student organizations, and are not a type of guest account. Learn more about functional and other types of University accounts.

Request a functional account. This request form can also be used to modify functional accounts or convert existing accounts, such as departmental, sponsored, or other types, to functional accounts.
