About MiNIC
The Midwest Nano Infrastructure Corridor

MiNIC is an open research center that offers a full suite of tools for external researchers to fabricate micro- and nanoscale devices, including microelectronics, MEMS, microfluidic systems, biosensors, optoelectronic devices, and electronic packaging. We also provide tools for work in emerging areas like 2-D materials, nanoparticles, and the biological applications of nanotechnology.

MiNIC consists of two research centers at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis the Minnesota Nano Center and the Characterization Facility.

The labs and tools of both Centers are open to all qualified users. We provide training and project guidance, and welcome researchers from industry and other academic institutions.

The Minnesota Nano Center has labs, instrumentation, and experts in the areas of nanofabrication, microelectronics, nanoparticles, and the biomedical applications of nanoscience.

The Characterization Facility offers tools for materials research, including microscopy via electron beams, force probes and visible light; elemental and chemical imaging; elemental and chemical spectroscopy; atomic and molecular structure analysis; nanomechanical testing; and surface and thin-film metrology.
