Day 13: Presentation day!

We started the morning with a great breakfast, as usual, at the Lutheran Center. Most of us spent the morning a bit stressed, working through our presentations and fine-tuning the details. We split up, with some heading to coffee shops to work on their presentations while others stayed back.

Finally, at 4 p.m., we all convened—along with a few who joined from home via Zoom—to give our presentations. Each village presented a unique, well-thought-out design to provide water to its community. We are excited to continue the work when we return to Minneapolis.

Everyone was tuned in to hear about each village’s plan.

Once the weight was lifted off our shoulders, we were full of energy and ready to celebrate. We decided to hike up Gangilonga Rock, which turned out to be more of a scramble than a hike, and ended up having a bit of a photo shoot at the top. The views were incredible, the vibes were great, and the weather was perfect. The trip down was a bit treacherous, but after our hikes in the villages, we were well prepared.

After some downtime, we went to dinner at Mama Iringa’s. It was a lively night filled with great conversation and pizza. We leave tomorrow for safari, and we cannot wait!
