Outreach & ME

ME is committed to fostering an environment where everyone can succeed.
The Mechanical Engineering Department fully supports the University of Minnesota mission statement, which states that “all people are enriched by understanding.” We acknowledge the department’s shared responsibility in creating an equitable environment for current and future generations so that all individuals are welcome and included in the department as staff, faculty, and students. We also acknowledge that the department has work to do to enact long-term, positive change.

ME Ambassadors Program
The ME Ambassadors Program seeks to close the gender and racial gaps in engineering by engaging in K-12 outreach that promotes representation and opportunity in our community. This innovative program connects K-12 students with mechanical engineering undergraduates to ensure the next generation of mechanical engineers represents all backgrounds.
