Systems, and Control

Diagram indicating use of control theory for targeted drug administration

The general area of Systems, and Control crosses many disciplinary boundaries and, accordingly, ECE faculty working in the area have a wide range of expertise on topics both theoretical as well as applied. These include optimization, control theory, optimal and stochastic control, filtering and estimation, robotics, distributed parameter systems and control of fluids, nano-positioning, nano-sensing, control at the molecular level, AFM technology, biological applications, and many others.

Our faculty have fostered strong relationships with colleagues and centers across campus which include joint seminars that expose students to technology, theories, and problems in aerospace and mechanics, chemical, electrical, industrial, mechanical engineering as well as computer and data sciences.
