Ten Students Receive 2019 Dr. Alan L. Eliason Undergraduate Achievement in ISyE Awards

Eliason-group

The ISyE Department was honored to host Dr. Alan L. Eliason on April 26, 2019 at the Graduate Hotel for its Scholarship and Awards Luncheon.

During the event, Dr. Eliason presented ten students with the first-ever Dr. Alan L. Eliason Undergraduate Achievement in ISyE Awards. The scholarship awards, which will henceforth be delivered annually through an application and nomination process, were made possible due to a tremendously generous donation from Dr. Eliason.

This award recognizes ISyE undergraduate students who have excelled in areas such as leadership, academics, community impact, and innovation.

Congratulations to the following students for the hard work and dedication that earned them this honor:

  • Rachel Eron
  • Ramsey Shaffer
  • Kristen Peterson
  • Matt Martell
  • Katie Riedel
  • Edward Kusiak
  • Hannah Schutz
  • Tongqing Chen
  • Katherine Azar
  • Michaela Holmgren

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to submit nominations for the 2020 Dr. Alan L. Eliason Undergraduate Achievement in ISyE Awards. There is no limit to the number of nominations an individual can submit; however, no student can receive this award more than one time.

Nominations should include specific examples of how the nominee has demonstrated excellence in one or more of these categories: leadership, academics, community impact, and innovation. Inclusion of details about the impact the nominee has had on others—whether they be peers, community members, or others—will be helpful.

Nominations must be submitted by October 31, 2019.
