Program Educational Objectives

Alumni of the mechanical engineering department are expected to have achieved the following 3-5 years after completing the undergraduate program:

  • Established themselves as practicing professionals in the field of engineering or related professions (such as business, education, law or medicine), or continued with graduate education.
  • Applied engineering principles to develop products, processes or knowledge; to solve technical or societal problems; or to otherwise contribute to the betterment of society.
  • Demonstrated their ability to contribute to a professional team.
  • Continued their intellectual development by enrolling in courses, by earning professional licensure, by attending conferences or workshops, or by participating in other lifelong learning opportunities.
