Travel
The information below may be helpful in planning your visit to the CSD Facility. Contact Kristina Brady Shannon ([email protected]) with any additional questions.
Air Travel
Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is a hub airport for Delta Airlines and is served by numerous other carriers.
Ground Transportation from MSP Airport
The cheapest option is via light rail. Trains depart from the airport (both Terminal 1 and 2) and stop on campus. Take the Blue Line from the airport toward Mpls-Target Field. Exit the train at the US Bank Stadium Station, cross to the opposite platform and transfer to the Green Line train toward St. Paul-Union Depot. Exit the train at the East Bank Station. The CSD Facility is located two blocks northwest of the station. Travel time is approximately 30-35 minutes. More information is available from MetroTransit or through online map services.
Taxis and ride hailing services are available, with travel times from 25 to 45 minutes depending on the time of day.
Drop-off Directions
Information for dropping off or picking up samples or equipment can be found on the Arrival, Maps & Parking page.
Lodging
Several hotels are located within easy walking distance of the CSD Facility. If you have a car, it's best to leave it at the hotel and walk to/from the lab each day.

University Visitor Housing
The University Housing web page provides links and information for several low-cost, nearby housing options for visiting faculty, staff, and students. In particular, look at the link for "Guest Housing". Lab visitors have used several of these options, including the Historic Faculty House, and summer housing in University dormitories.
Vacation Rentals
Airbnb, VRBO, and other services offer numerous locations near campus and along convenient public transit corridors. Check service listings for details.
