About
Richard joined the Applied Engineering Group at SAFL in 2000. He started as a physical modeler focused on design, construction and experimentation and remains a major contributor to most physical modeling projects at SAFL. Richard also designs, fabricates, and installs equipment and facilities for the research needs of institutions nation wide. A researcher 5, Richards is a member of the Eolos wind turbine operations, maintenance and research team and holds the position of Department Safety Officer at SAFL.
Prior to his tenure at St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, Richard worked as a field geologist for the Minnesota Geological Survey on the County Atlas Program and at Enecotech Midwest managing, designing and constructing ground water monitoring and remediation systems. Richard also worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation as a construction surveyor.
