Beth Kessler is a lecturer at the University of Minnesota’s Technology Leadership Institute (TLI), where she teaches strategic management of technology, equipping leaders to understand the role of business strategy in creating and sustaining competitive advantage. As Chief Administrative Officer for U.S. Bank’s Consumer and Small Business Payments division, she is responsible for strategy, competitive intelligence and organizational rhythms and reporting.
Beth joined U.S. Bank in 2016 and previously served as SVP, Head of Enterprise Strategy. She joined the Bank from McKinsey & Company where she served as a consultant for over eight years its Minneapolis office.
Prior to McKinsey & Company, she was an associate with two Chicago-based private equity firms – Chicago Growth Partners and William Blair Capital Partners. She also worked as an investment banking analyst for Merrill Lynch & Co.
Beth graduated with highest distinction from the University of Iowa and received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where she was named the Peter L. Frechette scholar.
Beth has served on numerous boards and advisory committees for area non-profit organizations. Most recently she served as Chair of the Board of Directors for Girls on the Run – Minnesota and as a Trustee for Twin Cities Public Television. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and their two children. She is an avid distance runner and outdoor enthusiast.
