Professor Satish Kumar named to U.S. National Committee for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics

On November 1, Satish Kumar started a four-year term on the U.S. National Committee for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNC/TAM). USNC/TAM represents the United States in national and international activities related to the broad science of mechanics, and is administered by the The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. USNC/TAM serves as a focal point for charting future priorities in mechanics-related research, applications, education, and outreach.  Kumar was chosen as the representative of the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics (APS-DFD). With nearly 3300 members from a broad range of academic disciplines, DFD is the fourth-largest unit of APS.

Congratulations Satish!
