Web Hosting

Provides web hosting services for legacy instructional and research websites. Provides locally hosted instances of third-party tools used for instruction and research. 

What's Included

• Web hosting for legacy research sites for Computer Science. New research sites should use Google Sites or Drupal Lite.
• Web hosting for legacy faculty pages (~username pages / www-users pages). New faculty home pages should use Google Sites or Drupal Lite.
• Website hosting for class websites for cases where instructional needs cannot be met by Canvas. New requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
• Hosting for local instances of third-party tools used for instruction or research. These are evaluated on a case by case basis.

What's Not Included

• All support relating to CSE unit websites and Enterprise Drupal is available via our Collegiate Website Work service.
• Significant website customization or assistance is available via CSE-IT’s Custom Solutions Development and Custom Solutions Maintenance services.

What You Need to Do

• For new websites, request a Drupal Lite site or create a Google Site.
  • New requests for sites outside of these platforms will be evaluated through the Website Support / Consulting Service. Contact [email protected] to get started
• For existing websites, email [email protected] to report issues or request assistance.
• Manage content on your site.
  • Ensure your site adheres to the University of Minnesota’s accessibility standards.
  • Ensure your site adheres to the University of Minnesota’s branding policy.
