Susanne Joan passed away on July 23, 2023, in Chapel Hill, NC at the age of 81. Susanne was born on January 12, 1942, in Chicago, IL to her parents Bill and Helen Sheeley. She spent most of her adult life living in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Physics. Susanne worked as a technical writer for 20 years. Susanne loved books. During her retirement, she enjoyed both reading and writing books. In her final years, Susanne wrote and published two books: "The Falcon's Prey" and "Death is Distressing". For the last 40 years of her life, Susanne lived with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. Yet, throughout this challenge she never lost her positive and optimistic attitude. Before the effects of Multiple Sclerosis became severe, she enjoyed attending book club, walking around Lake Harriet with friends, and attending daily mass. Susanne spent her final years in Chapel Hill, NC living with her daughter Lisa and son-in-law Jim. Their country farmhouse provided a beautiful and peaceful environment complete with horses, butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers, wildlife, and nature. She loved enjoying the wonderful southern weather from their front porch and watching the butterflies that swarmed their butterfly bushes. Susanne is survived by numerous loved ones, including her children and their significant others, her sister and brother, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends, and dedicated caregivers, many of whom became family. Susanne's legacy will be the abundance of love that she gave to her family and friends, which will be passed on for generations.
