FTPI Faculty Positions
The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for two professorial appointments at William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute (FTPI). Candidates with distinguished scholarly accomplishments in condensed matter and high-energy physics, broadly understood, will be considered. The University of Minnesota has strong and well-supported theoretical condensed matter and high-energy physics groups pursuing topics in various subfields of physics.
The appointment is expected to be at the tenured faculty level (qualified applicants who are current assistant professors would be hired with tenure). The FTPI affiliation provides additional research opportunities through a reduced teaching load and extra research funds. The start date for this position is negotiable.
For application information please see the University of Minnesota Human Resources website, Job ID: 364598.
MIfA Faculty Position
The Minnesota Institute of Astrophysics (MIfA) within the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Astrophysics, to begin August 2025. The Institute has identified a particular strategic need in stellar astrophysics, but we are conducting a broad search spanning all areas of astrophysics. The intended rank is Assistant Professor, but applications at a more senior level will also be considered.
For application information please see the University of Minnesota Human Resources website, Job ID: 364805.
