Guests of the University Enrollment

A student enrolling in a course to transfer into their program at a different institution or a current student or working professional who wishes to audit a course at the University of Minnesota enroll as a non-degree seeking student at the University of Minnesota.  Typically, enrolling for undergraduate credit serves this purpose and the Guest is charged the undergraduate tuition rate (in addition to fees).

To Enroll as a Guest of the University of Minnesota taking undergraduate coursework, typically two steps are needed:

Step One: Complete the Non-Credit Guest Enrollment Process
This process will activate you in the University of Minnesota system for non-degree undergraduate coursework.

If you are returning under this status in non-consecutive semesters, you may need to renew your status. For example, if you have taken courses as a Guest in a Fall semester but did not the following Spring semester, and are now returning as a Guest in the following Summer or later.

WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE YOUR UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA INTERNET ID AND STUDENT ID NUMBER - WHEN YOU HAVE THAT INFORMATION, PROCEED TO STEP TWO.  Without those two items, UNITE cannot enroll you - you will include those items on the UNITE Registration Form as part of Step Two.

Step Two: Complete and submit the UNITE Registration Form for Students (online form).

To Enroll as a Guest of the University of Minnesota taking graduate coursework (for example, to transfer into another graduate program - check with your program about requirements), typically two steps are needed:

Step One: Complete the Registration Request for Graduate Credit form.
Complete and send this form as an attachment to UNITE (unite@umn.edu) and we process it.  At this time, also submit the UNITE Registration Form for Students (step 2, below).

Step Two: Complete and submit the UNITE Registration Form for Students (online form).
