Biomedical and Biological Computational Methods, Devices, & Systems
Biomedical and Biological Computational Methods, Devices and Systems is one of the seven areas in which ECE faculty conduct research. Their work crosses boundaries and involves the application of electrical engineering concepts and techniques to new areas in biology and medicine.
Our faculty are leading the way in advances in biomedical imaging for therapeutic and surgical purposes, data analysis, synthetic and computational biology, molecular computing, magnetic technologies, and modeling of biosensing devices. Research in these areas is highly interdisciplinary; our faculty collaborate with researchers from many other departments in different colleges at the University of Minnesota, as well as with colleagues at other institutions around the world.
