First-Ever Electroposium Will Showcase the Electric-Fueled World of Tomorrow

Visitors to the University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis campus will get a glimpse into our electrified future October 9 at the first-ever Electroposium, hosted by the Technological Leadership Institute.

The Electroposium is a free event that will showcase the cutting-edge technologies driving change in the 21st century. The main hall of McNamara Alumni Center will be transformed into a high-tech exhibit space featuring cutting edge products and systems related to the conversion of fossil fuel power systems to electricity.

“This first-ever event is an amazing opportunity for students, faculty, industry professionals and the public to learn more about the technologies driving the global conversion away from fossil fuels,” said Allison Hubel, director to TLI. “We’ll have speakers representing industry giants, live demos, networking opportunities, and a chance to see the latest in electric vehicle innovation.”

The Electroposium is sponsored by many of the regional players in the electrification field, such as Toro, Thermo King, the Defense Alliance, SCIpact, Testforce and Tektronix, in collaboration with the MN Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED)Polaris, The Toro Company, and Design Ready Controls.

It’s the largest event ever hosted by the Technological Leadership Institute, which resides within the U’s College of Science and Engineering. Founded in 1987, TLI is no stranger to the electrification field. In 2022 the Institute launched the nation’s first graduate certificate program in electricifation.

The Electroposium will be open to the public from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9. For more information, visit cse.umn.edu/tli/electroposium-event-2023.
