Technically Speaking

The Technically Speaking series hosts interactive discussions from highly-accomplished technical professionals and thought-leaders to speak with current and prospective students as well as alumni and professionals who are interested in topics related to technology leadership, commercialization, product development, cybersecurity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The formats range from fireside chats to lectures. Participating guests are expected to arrive prepared with questions and topics for discussion. Jodie Kautt, Vice President of Cyber Security at Target
Jodie leads the Cyber Fusion Center, which integrates threat intelligence, advanced analytics and state-of-the-art technology to detect, deter, investigate and mitigate cyber threats. In addition, she leads product security, data protection, fraud & abuse and enterprise incident management for Target.
Jodie is the executive champion for Target Tech’s Diversity Action Committee, focused on building a team that values open dialogue, respect, inclusion and diversity. She is also a member of New York University’s Cyber Fellows Advisory Council.
Jodie joined Target in 2005 from KPMG, where she consulted with a variety of companies.
During this Technically Speaking talk, Jodie will walk you through the role cybersecurity plays in the modern retail company and how she navigates the challenges of leadership on the edge. She will also demystify the world of cybersecurity to the uninitiated and explore how leaders with all kinds of backgrounds can contribute to the cybersecurity function within organizations.
