MOT Student Kumar Avizeet Admitted as Senior Member of IEEE

Kumar Avizeet, student with TLI's Management of Technology (MOT) class of '26 at the University of Minnesota and Senior Manager Software Engineering at Optum, has been named a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in recognition of his professional accomplishments and experience.

This prestigious honor highlights Kumar’s contributions and expertise in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Automation, Computer Science, and DevOps.

IEEE is the leading professional association for electrical and electronic engineering and the world’s largest association of technical professionals. Senior membership, the IEEE’s highest grade, recognizes veteran scientists, engineers, and others with at least 10 years of professional experience, who have made extraordinary contribution in the field of engineering over at least five years and have been nominated by other IEEE fellows and senior members.

Only about 10% of IEEE members become senior members, according to their website.

Kumar says that what drew him to TLI's Management of Technology program was the unique blend of technology and management that program offers. "I was looking for a program that could bridge the gap between my technical expertise and strategic business management," he said. "The Master of Science in Management of Technology program curriculum focuses on emerging technologies, innovation, and strategic leadership, which perfectly aligns with my career goal of driving technological advancements using effective management skills. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to learn from esteemed faculty members and collaborate with a diverse cohort of professionals, which is highly appealing."

He also noted that TLI's strong industry connections and emphasis on practical, real-world applications of technology management was a strong draw for him.

Please congratulate Kumar for this honor!
