AGICO MFK1-FA with CS-4 Furnace
The newest of the IRM's three susceptibility bridges and it is the most flexible. It can be used for bulk susceptibility measurements, manual or automated anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility measurements, and susceptibility-temperature curves. Bulk susceptibility can be measured at a range of applied field amplitudes and three frequencies.
Specifications:
- High sensitivity: 2 x 10-8 (SI).
- Fully automatic zeroing system.
- Three operating frequencies (976 Hz, 3904 Hz, and 15616 Hz).
- Field amplitudes can be chosen between 2 A/m and 700 A/m.
- Semi-automated rotator for anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility measurements. Rotation around one axis at a time.
- Temperature range: room temperature to 650 C.
- Accommodates standard paleomagnetic cylinders (maximum length 22 mm), cut rock cubes, and some types of plastic cubes.
Measurement Types
- Bulk susceptibility (with varying applied field amplitude and frequency).
- Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (manual or semi-automated measurements).
- Susceptibility-temperature curves on powdered samples.
