I am a Staff Scientist at the Institute for Rock Magnetism in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Minnesota.
My research focuses on using magnetic records preserved in meteorites to investigate the formation and evolution of protoplanetary disks. Additionally, I study Precambrian rocks to understand the early thermal evolution, differentiation, and magnetic fields of planets and their implications for planetary habitability. I also pursue interdisciplinary research combining paleomagnetism with volcanology, geochronology, and modeling to investigate a wide range of scientific questions including the emplacement of Large Igneous Provinces and their impacts on Earth's geological and climatic history.
I earned a B.S. in Applied Geophysics (with a minor in Geological Engineering) and an M.S. in Geophysics from Michigan Technological University, followed by a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Florida. Outside of research, I enjoy hiking, astrophotography, and crochet.
