George W. Greenlees Scholarship Recipients
The George W. Greenlees Scholarship was established by a gift from Patricia Greenlees in memory of her husband George. Professor Greenlees was a nuclear physicist and a member of the faculty from 1964 to 1993. The scholarship is intended for physics majors with financial need.
2024 Recipients
Megan Avril: "I’ve been working with the multi-messenger astronomy group since January 2024. My current project uses gravitational wave data to put tighter constraints around the Hubble constant, which is the rate at which the universe is expanding. "

Petra is originally from Roseville, Minnesota and she is interested in quantum physics.

Megan Schoenzeit
Megan is originally from Mound, Minnesota. She plans to use the award money/scholarship to help cover academic expenses. "I am in Professor Dahlberg's condensed matter lab."
