Student Groups
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) at the University of Minnesota is an academic organization with a friendly social atmosphere. SPS activities are centered in their own dedicated space within the School, where students can study and talk with other physics majors. It also has a library of physics texts and a computer lab to help members with their studies.
GWiPA UMN
GWiPA is the Gender-Minorities and Women in Physics and Astronomy graduate student group at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. They provide support to women and gender minority students and advocate for change within the department, with the goal of improving the climate and increasing graduate level enrollment, retention, and graduation rates.
Grad Phi
Grad Phi is a student organization for physics and astronomy graduate students at the University of Minnesota focused on developing, supporting, and improving the graduate student community. They host coffee hours, game nights, movie nights, bike rides, and more!
National Society of Black Physicists
Our mission is to support Black students in the field of physics (you don't need to be a physics major to be involved). Our mission is to create a strong, inclusive community where members can thrive academically and professionally. We aim to provide valuable resources, create a supportive community, and promote diversity within the field of physics. Through our events and initiatives, we want to inspire and support future leaders in science and technology.
