In honor of Professor Homer T. Mantis, a meteorological physicist who was a member of our faculty for over 30 years. This scholarship provides support to full-time undergraduates working towards a degree in Physics.
Jamison is originally from Zimmerman, MN. This summer, he will work with Professor Lindsay Glesener in the University’s Small Satellite Research Laboratory. His research will concern characterizing the x-ray detectors on the IMPRESS CubeSat, a solar science mission that will investigate poorly understood phenomena related to solar flares. Jamison plans to use the scholarship funds for tuition expenses.
